3 Steps to Measure Bra Size
When it comes to measuring your bra size, things aren’t as simple as they appear. Grabbing a measuring tape and marking down the band size. That’s it? I wish it would have that simple. But it’s not. So at your ease, we have sorted down the measurement process into three steps. First, we will be measuring the band size, then the bust size, and at last, the cup size. So without any further delay, let’s dive into the three-step measurement process.
Measuring the Band Size
To measure the band size accurately, you need to put on a non-padded bra that is both comfortable and well-fitted.
- Now, take a measuring tape. Wrap it across your back right under your breasts. Do so while standing in front of the mirror, just to make sure that the tape is exactly parallel to the floor. Don’t pull the tape so tight that it squeezes your body.
- Now, if your measurement comes infraction(like 31 1/2 inches), then round it off to the nearest whole number (32 inches). Make sure that the round off number must be even as the band sizes are measured in even numbers only.
Measuring the Bust Size
- Again, wrap the measuring tape across your back and measure your breasts at their fullest part, usually at the nipples. Remember to measure the fuller breast as all women have asymmetrical breasts i.e one breast is larger than the other.
- Take a few deep breaths to let the measuring tape rest in its most comfortable position. Just make sure, it shouldn’t be too loose and not too tight around your breasts.
- Again, round off to the nearest whole number if it’s a fraction. That will be your bust size.
Finding the Cup Size
- Subtracting the Band Size from the Bust Size will get you the cup size. The difference between the two measurements will be your accurate cup size. If the difference comes out to be 1 inch, then Cup size will be A.
- The complete table is given below for different cup sizes.
Conclusion
Cup sizes differ from brand to brand. There is a specific size chart of every brand or company on their website. You can check your cup size according to your band and bust measurements.
Combining the Cup Size with the Band size will give you the accurate bra size. For example, a 32B bra size means that you have a 32 inch Band and a B cup size. Also, remember that the cup size is not the same for each band size. This means that a 32B cup will be smaller than a 34B cup. So, keep these tips in mind the next time you go bra shopping. Hope this helps!
