The patient must always have access to light and healthy food. Ensure that you give them healthy meals from time to time.
Steam inhalation
Make sure that the patient is inhaling steam at least 2-3 times a day. Keep a steamer handy with the patient and remind them to use it.
Mask
Always make sure that you wear a double mask whenever you go in the room where the patient is present and make sure you come out of the room as soon as possible.
Fresh air
Make sure that the room the patient is in is well-ventilated and the patient has access to pure air. This not only helps in the proper ventilation of air but also acts as a mood booster.
Emotional support
Due to a lack of human connection, the isolation period can be very depressing for a lot of patients, and for that, you need to make sure that you are emotionally available for the patient.
Take care of yourself
While taking care of the patient, don’t forget that you need to take care of yourself too. It is equally important for you to take breaks and relax.
It is a horrific period but we are all in this together and we will come out of it stronger. Take care and stay safe!
